At his peak of his touring career Marcel Woods suddenly decided to pull the plug out of his hectic life as an performing artist whos constantly on the road travelling. The only thing he left behind for his fans was a very emotional letter in which he expressed that family was priority #1 to him and thanked everyone for their continuous support.
Being ranked for several years in the prestigious DJ MAG TOP 100 made him one of the headliners in the early days of dance music. He managed to perform on events such as: Sensation, Mysteryland, Dance Valley, Global Gathering, Trance energy, Beyond Wonderland, Sunrise Festival etc etc.
His DJ MAG ranking was a natural result of his productions and DJ skills that did get embraced by both fans and DJs. Till date, even the new generation can’t get around Marcels legacy he left behind for dance lovers. Therefore it’s not strange when you hear some of his classics (re-worked or not) blasted out by heavy hitters in the present scene by names such as: Dimitri Vegas & like Mike, Ummet Ozcan, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and the # 1 Australian DJ MarLo to name but a few.
Very recently one of his older tracks called Advanced even reached the certified Golden status in Europe. Therefore it’s safe to say, the man’s music legacy speaks for itself and till date it shakes dancefloors on a world wide scale.
Nowadays Marcel still plays a limited amounts of classic sets a year. These sets are not only special because of the rare amount of shows, but also because they are a real trip down memory lane, and the perfect opportunity to hear the legend play his and many other great dance classics!
